Balnacraig School is looking for a GTCS registered Secondary teacher with pastoral responsibilities who can lead quality learning and teaching programmes to achieve at National 1-5, with a focus on literacy, plus wider achievement awards in a range of subject areas.

Balnacraig provides both residential Care and Education services within a therapeutic and nurturing environment for young people aged 10-17 from across Scotland.

This is a unique opportunity to work as part of small team where class sizes are often one to one. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work intensely to make a difference in the lives of young people with significant complex additional support needs.

We are looking for a highly motivated and energetic person to join our team, with the desire, creativity and flexibility to nurture learning in a multi-agency setting. Working with others, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering high quality learning experiences to support individual needs in the context of Curriculum for Excellence and GIRFEC. The candidate will have a proven track record of delivering results at national levels in a relevant subject area, a keen focus on literacy and have a good understanding of Inclusive Education, Additional Support for Learning and Health and Wellbeing.
