Salary: DA10: £34,155 - £37,128 per annum (Pay Award Pending)
Campus: Gardyne
Dundee and Angus College has an enviable reputation for providing a first class learner experience and achieving excellence in our key performance indicators. A significant part of this success is due to the digital skills of the staff enabled by the digital strategy introduced in 2018. The Network team have contributed hugely to the delivery of the aims of this strategy.
Responsible for the provision of all Networks, Infrastructure, Workspaces, and Server estate within the College, the Network team consists of a small number of highly trained, experienced staff. The Network team is currently heavily focussed on the College’s strategic goal of migrating services to the Cloud wherever suitable and ensuring services are available from anywhere. These goals however increase the cyber risk that the College is subject to.
We are looking to recruit a new Cyber Security Engineer who will specialise and lead on this aspect of the Digital Strategy. The Cyber Security Engineer will be tasked with leading the management of cyber security systems, recommending and implementing future improvements to reduce cyber risk, providing guidance to various College groups on best practice and responding to cyber incidents if, and when, they arise.
The post holder will work closely with the rest of the ICT team, the College’s Chief Information Security Officer and the College as a whole to ensure cyber security risk mitigation and risk appetite is appropriate for the organisation.
Successful applicants will demonstrate a significant expertise in the Cyber Security area, be constantly looking to innovate and look for new solutions, work with counterparts from across the sector and be a focal point within the College for all cyber security related information.
Closing date for receipt of completed application forms is Monday 4 December 2023.
Interviews will take place at Gardyne Campus and are scheduled for Tuesday 19 December 2023.
