This post requires technical theatre skills and the ability to provide technical support for both student and external theatre performances and events.
The primary function is to support the work of Lecturers in ensuring that learners receive high quality support and their individual requirements are met. Learning Assistants also ensure that the learning environment, including materials and equipment, is effectively maintained.
You must be educated to a minimum level HND level in Technical Theatre. Be a good communicator and team player so you can work with curriculum teams with any changes to delivery, assessment practice and using the latest technological innovation. Sharing best practice from any industry CPD events undertaken. Have a strong commitment to the performing arts in education and provide a high level of professionalism.
Knowledge of ETC EOS lighting control systems as well as a thorough understanding of signal and power distribution in theatrical lighting systems. Experience of lighting events in a small to medium capacity venue would be advantageous.
Knowledge and experience of setting up live sound systems including the operation of digital mixing desks and use of radio microphones. An advanced knowledge of signal processing and routing within audio systems.
Experience of programming and operating Qlab software for both audio and video.
Confidence and ability to work unsupervised in time sensitive situations and carry out calm and effective problem solving under pressure.
Experience production managing small scale theatrical and/or dance performances in multiple venues would be advantageous.
Competence PAT testing theatrical equipment using a Seaward brand PAT tester.
There will be the necessity to work evenings and weekends if necessary.
