Health and Safety Advisor

We have an exciting opportunity for a Health and Safety Advisor to join our Health and Safety Team to help promote our health and safety service. You will help to embed a positive health and safety culture aiding in the protection of staff, students, visitors. As part of your duties you will provide health and safety advice and guidance, identify training needs and undertake accident investigations.

You will support the Health and Safety manager to contribute to development and implementation of Health, Safety and Environmental Safety policies, procedures, risk assessments and systems to help ensure health and safety systems are in place. You will have proven work experience in a similar role within a multidisciplinary organisation and keep an up to date working knowledge of legislation relating to health and safety.

Educated to NEBOSH National General Certificate and a Membership of IOSH are all essential for the post. You should have experience of implementing Safety Management Systems and an in depth knowledge of health, safety and welfare legislation and relevant Codes of Practice.

You will also have Full & Valid Driving Licence as the role will require frequent travel within the Fife region and further travel around the country, he job entails 2 annual visits to each of our 14 learning centres within the Scottish Prison Service.
