This role will be part of a team responsible for development and delivery of Fife College’s new Geospatial Information Systems Foundational Training Programme.

The College has secured external funding to design a brand new educational pathway into the geospatial sector. We are looking for someone with expertise in the scoping, design, storyboarding and development of engaging and effective learning and assessment solutions from initial concept through to completion. Developments will focus on project-based curricula delivered through a variety of mechanisms, with the majority delivered face to-face with some opportunities to use blended and fully online channels.

Key Responsibilities:

Work with Head of Projects, Head of Digital Learning and appropriate staff across the college to determine the scope of project based learning programs.

Work with subject matter experts including Sector Leads and industry colleagues to design and storyboard all learning activities.

Lead the development of comprehensive programme materials, including lesson plans, assessment guidance, and delivery resources.

Apply proven instructional design theories, practice and methods as part of the design and implementation process.

Develop and edit content for project-based curricula delivered primarily via face to face channels with some use of blended and fully online channels

Create learning resources using rapid authoring tools ensuring adherence to Fife College Standards.

Demonstrate innovative ways to present content and apply learning best practices to technology tools to create meaningful, educational and training resources to support learning and teaching.

Ensure learning and assessment materials conform to current relevant accessibility standards, and equality and diversity is considered in the design and development of all learning and assessment materials

Collaborate with the Digital Learning Team to utilise appropriate digital tools in the design and implementation of learning materials on the College VLE.

Support academic and professional services colleagues to secure any required quality approvals or accreditation.

Contribute to project reporting and evaluation as needed.

Essential Qualifications/Experience

Qualified to SCQF Level 7 in English, Communications, Business Administration, computing or similar or equivalent work based experience.

Comprehensive experience in the design and development of training programmes and training materials

Proven experience of instructional design, usability and accessibility

Experience of creating online learning content

Experience in creating learning resources using rapid authoring tools such as Articulate Rise 360 and Articulate Storyline

Experience of editing audio and video

Essential Skills

Good awareness of current research in innovative pedagogies.

Highly organised

Expert user of MS Office

Excellent attention to detail

Able to deliver high quality written content.

Effective communicator

Ability to prioritise workload in order to meet tight deadlines

Ability to work independently, using initiative and adapting to changing situations.

Fluency in both written and spoken English

Additional Requirements:

Must have the right to work in the UK.

Must have a full driver's license and the ability to travel between Fife College campuses and occasionally across the central belt of Scotland. You will spend some time each week at our Kirkcaldy and Levenmouth campuses.
