MIS Timetabling Administrator – 1 FTE (35 hours per week) – Support Grade 2

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Glasgow Kelvin College’s MIS Department as a MIS and Timetabling Administrator. Applications are invited from candidates with the skills to support the administration of the Student Records function in Glasgow Kelvin College.

The role includes extensive use of software packages relating to student records and timetabling. Duties include maintaining accurate records of student enrolment, attendance and attainment; liaising with academic staff with regard to student activity and attainment data; liaising with partner organisations to gather information to be included in the College’s main timetable; working with academic managers to ensure the efficient utilisation of the College’s staff and room resource; liaising with the Payroll department to ensure the accuracy of teaching staff information held in the timetabling system; supporting students and staff with general student records and timetabling enquiries.

Previous experience of working in a college management information system post or in an environment where you dealt with high volume data input processes while maintaining robust systems, processes and procedures would be advantageous. Additionally, having effective verbal and written communication skills, the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders is essential. You will be able to demonstrate a strong track record of planning, organising and delivering to deadlines.

Applicants will ideally be educated to HNC (SCQF Level 7) level or equivalent, or have evidence of Continuous Professional Development.

You should have demonstrable knowledge of using databases and management information systems. Knowledge and experience of processes within Scottish further education colleges is desirable (e.g. experience of using Unit-e or Celcat).
