Jordanhill School is an exciting place to work. Underpinning our work is a commitment to our vision, values and aims.

We are proud of Jordanhill School, but we also recognise that we have much to learn and we are ambitious to grow. You will have drive, energy, vision and commitment to develop our pupils and staff to their fullest potential. You will love working with young people, and you will be determined to work with us to make the Support for Learning department the best it can be.

The SfL department work across Primary and Secondary departments with the PT SfL maintaining a strategic overview of all supports in Primary and Secondary. They spend the majority of time working and leading in Secondary. It is therefore expected that the ideal candidate will have significant experience working in Secondary. Experience of working with Primary pupils is desirable but not essential.

The PT SfL is a key member of the Pupil Support team, led by the Depute Rector. In Secondary, the PT SfL directs the work of the Secondary PSAs and any other colleagues assigned to the Secondary team. They are a key member of the Secondary pupil support team and contribute to all Secondary JST meetings. They also work closely with the year heads in Secondary.

In Primary, The PT SfL works closely with the DHT (Primary) and Primary Teacher (SfL) to maintain a strategic overview of SfL in Primary, and offer advice to the Primary team.

The SfL team is supported by an Educational Psychologist (1 day per week)

We welcome applications from existing Principal Teachers looking for a new challenge or experienced teachers who are ready to take on their first middle leadership role.
