Lathallan School has offered boarding since the 1930s and as such it is central to our ethos. In the late 1990s full boarding ceased but weekly and flexi boarding continued to flourish. In 2006 the Senior School was established and thus a change in the Boarding profile was seen as natural with full boarding starting again and all boarding being Senior School based. The Boarding House, located in Brotherton Castle, can accommodate a maximum of 35 pupils ranging from flexi to full boarders.

· Being resident and available over weekends, bar exeats, and available for duty nights (2) during the week, unless pre-arranged with the Houseparent.

· Being available on school in-service days for the setup of the Boarding House and training.

The Houseparent or Matron will be the Senior Member of staff on Duty. However, there may be times when they require you take on that responsibility / act as a second adult. This may be to offer general support, to take a student to hospital, or to cover the Boarding House, releasing them or you to take the student to hospital.

As above, weekend hours are from 1700 on Friday through to Monday with hours working and on call to be worked in tandem with the Houseparent.

Supplementary

In addition to boarding duties, it is also an expectation that you assist in another area of school life. A Games Coaching role is outlined below but other skills that candidates may bring, such as outdoor education or estates skills, will also be considered.
