We are looking to recruit a Geography teacher to deliver the subject to our senior pupils. The postholder will work closely with the History teacher under the Humanities umbrella.
We don’t just teach in classrooms – we teach in our 19th-century castle, across our 60-acre grounds and through adventures beyond the school gates. We are looking for a teacher who thrives in this vibrant environment. You will require good organisational skills and initiative, and the ability to work with a significant degree of autonomy, combined with strong ‘team player’ instincts and a good sense of school community.

Teaching Responsibilities:
The list below is not exhaustive but gives a good indication of the key responsibilities of the job.
- Delivery of Geography throughout our senior school from S1 to S6.
- Development and delivery of courses in line with the Scottish Curriculum for Excellence, National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher.
- Reporting on progress and achievements of pupils orally and in writing.
- Organisation of assessment, coursework and other SQA materials as required by the SQA coordinator.
- To develop strategies with colleagues to aid transition points within the whole school
Wider Responsibilities:
- The organisation of the Geography budget and resourcing.
- To review and update the Departmental Handbook.
- To lead trips outwith school in line with school policy.
- Participation in our co-curricular programme which will reflect the skills and interests of the incumbent.
- To actively support the marketing and promotion of the school.
- To assist with boarding duties once a week on a rota basis for part of the academic year.
- To act as a Form Teacher as required.
