It’s an exciting time at NCL.

We welcomed our new Principal and CEO, Professor Christopher Moore, in late-2019, and are working towards a shared NCL vision where people are at the heart of everything we do.

We embraced the challenges of lockdown 2020, successfully moving towards a blended delivery approach and implementing new approaches for an improved student experience.

We employ over 1,000 staff members, comprising academic experts and professional service staff to provide an exceptional service to the NCL community and in return, we offer flexible working, a generous benefits package and competitive pay.

Lecturing Careers

A Lecturing career at New College Lanarkshire is highly rewarding, as you will help each and every student reach their full potential and ensure that they are truly Skillset for Life.

Our six faculties, Care and Science; Engineering and Automotive; Computing and Creative Industries; Service Industries; Business, Social Sciences and Sport; and Supported Learning, offer a wide range of career opportunities for prospective lecturing staff.

We offer entry-level courses, through to HN study and degree programmes, as well as a range of Modern Apprenticeship and industry specific programmes. Our students come from all over Scotland and beyond to build their skills at New College Lanarkshire. We would love you to become part of our team and help them along the way.

Pay and Benefits

Our staff play an important role in preparing students for the world of work, so we aim to ensure they are rewarded for their efforts.

Salaries and conditions for college staff are now agreed nationally, but at NCL our salaries are competitive and we offer a range of benefits and service to staff, to ensure you have the work/life balance just right. We offer a standard working week of 35 hours, but part time, term time and flexible working options may also be available. Just some of the benefits we offer include:
