The Advert

We are looking for a highly motivated individual who has a strong customer focus, demonstrates good communication, and strong analytical/problem solving skills. Joining our busy Senior IT Support team the role will perform 3rd line support for staff ITTS queries and take ownership of operation and maintenance of College IT systems and infrastructure. They will act as an escalation point for technical queries from team members or other departments.

 

The successful candidate should have previous experience working within and IT Support environment, troubleshooting client related hardware and software technologies.

JOB TITLE:       Senior IT Support Support Engineer

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  1. Evidence of commitment to continuous professional development.
  2. HND or SCQF Level 8 or equivalent in Computing related subject.
  3. *ITIL Foundation/Intermediate certification.
  4. *Membership of professional bodies.

 

 

EXPERIENCE

 

  1. Experience of working in a 3rd line technical team.
  2. Experience of providing high quality IT services.
  3. Experience in managing and prioritising individual workloads.

 

 

KNOWLEDGE

 

  1. A strong technical knowledge of contemporary IT technology including Windows server Operating Systems, networking technologies Active Directory and infrastructure hardware.
  2. Working knowledge of the components of an effective IT service.
  3. Ability to understand and interpret user requirements.
  4. Experience of contractor and supplier relationships.
  5. The ability to understand user requirements.
