The Advert

North East Scotland College are looking for a dynamic individual with proven abilities to manage and inspire to join the Student Advice and Support Team.  The candidate should be enthusiastic, proactive and passionate about inclusive learning, engagement and partnership working to deliver a first class wellbeing and learning support service to students that will enhance the student experience.  The Student Support Manager will form part of the Safeguarding Team and will operationally manage a team of Student Support Tutors and Student Wellbeing Advisers at both Altens and Fraserburgh Campus.

 

You need to be willing to travel between campuses, have an effective range of communication, problem solving and organisational skills and have a proactive attitude to working alongside students, external partners and staff of the College.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. An HNC/SVQ Level III qualification or equivalent
  2. PDA Advancing Equality and Diversity through Inclusiveness at SCQF level 9. (or willingness to work towards this qualification).
  3. Specialist qualification in literacy, numeracy or language (or willingness to work towards qualification).
  4. Evidence of continuing professional development

 

EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE

  1. Experience of supporting students through a support related process
  2. Experience of delivering learning support within adult education
  3. Experience of working with students in a variety of settings
  4. Experience of new technology to enhance the learning experience
  5. Experience of collating data/information handling and presenting information
