An exciting opportunity has arisen for a self-motivated and enthusiastic Secretary who will provide clerical and administrative support to the Pastoral Team at St Aloysius’ College.
You will carry out a wide and varied range of administrative duties, including, recording and checking registers for pupils’ attendance, updating the school database, organising parental meetings for Year Heads, preparing and collating attendance and late-coming reports and liaising with the school nurse regarding sick pupils.
You will be a vital member of the College Pastoral Team and will often act as the first point of contact for pupils entering the Year Office, or for parents contacting the school via telephone or email.
You will have significant experience in a similar or related role, ideally with a qualification in Business Administration, Secretarial Studies or relevant subject. In addition, you must possess excellent communication and organisational skills, together with well-developed Word and Excel skills.
You must be a team player and flexible, as you may be required to provide some cover for other areas within the school administration system. You will have a strong customer focus, experience of dealing with the public and working to tight deadlines.
Working with children is essential, therefore as is the ability to build effective working relationships at all levels.
If you are interested in applying for the role, please complete the College application form available from our website with a covering letter setting out your skills relevant to this post to Shona Thomson in the Human Resources Department at apply@staloysius.org no later than 9am on Monday 12th August 2024.
St Aloysius’ College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be required to gain membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups.
