Lead, direct and manage a proactive insurance programme for all aspects of Police Scotland operations ensuring its personnel, property, assets and liabilities are constantly and adequately protected in line with best value and with full regard to risk management considerations.

Working with other services, establish a lessons learned culture regarding insurance and embrace learning actions to improve organisational outcomes and to reduce risk.

Establish, manage and develop relationships with stakeholders and staff to manage the Insurance tendering and procurement exercises resulting contracts with insurers and brokers, ensuring that such arrangements are delivering and evidencing Best Value for the organisation.

Promote a positive culture of insurance providing training and guidance to all levels within Police Scotland.

To lead, develop and implement an effective Insurance Management Policy, Strategy and Framework for the organisation, providing expert and knowledgeable strategic advice on insurance needs linked to organisational objectives.
