The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) are delighted to invite applications for the role of Area Commander.
The Role
As a strategic leader, you will contribute to the safe and effective delivery of Fire and Rescue Services across Scotland, working collaboratively with the SFRS Board, Strategic Leadership Team, Senior Management Board and other key national and local stakeholders.
You will drive performance improvement aligned to SFRS strategic aims, strengthening our culture of safety, teamwork, respect and innovation. You will understand the key issues facing the Service and play a leading role in national resilience and continuous improvement.
As part of the Flexi Duty Officer system, you will provide operational emergency response as an Incident Commander, leading incidents safely and effectively and supporting other Flexi Duty Managers in their Incident Command duties.
You will demonstrate a strong commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion, communicate effectively at a strategic level, and provide clear direction and insight. A proven ability to deliver outcomes through an innovative, forward‑thinking approach is essential.
