Estates Surveyor
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service would like to invite applications for the post of Estates Surveyor; this is a permanent position working 35 hours per week.
This is a full time post however applications from individuals seeking to work on a part time, job share or flexible working basis would be considered.
The Estates Surveyor will work within the Estates Team of the SFRS Property Department and be managed by the Estates Manager as Line Manager. They will assist in the Estate Management of the SFRS Property Estate which covers various properties across the whole of mainland and island Scotland. Specifically, they will assist in the production of the annual Asset Valuation, Landlord and Tenant Management, Non-Domestic Rates, Title queries and general day today management of a diverse estate.
Previous experience of commercial/public sector property valuation particularly with Discounted Replacement Cost. Experience in negotiating and agreeing leases and lease variations, general agreements, wayleaves and servitudes. Experience in negotiations and organisation of property disposal and acquisitions. A history of dealing with Non-Domestic Rates appeals and general estates matters.
Applicants will require to be a full member of the RICS and hold Registered Valuer status.

Salary on appointment will normally be at the lower salary point, with progression subject to regular review - in line with the SFRS performance appraisal arrangements. A higher salary placing will be considered in exceptional circumstances subject to experience demonstrated.
This post is also subject to the provision of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exclusions and Exemptions) Scotland Order 2013. Therefore, the successful candidate's will be subject to a Level 2 Disclosure record check through Disclosure Scotland.
