Advocacy Western Isles has just gone through a major restructure and is looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our team of twelve to provide business and financial management support for a third sector Advocacy Service serving the Western Isles of Scotland.
To be responsible for maintaining/developing all financial aspects of the Organisation, including financial planning, fundraising, funding applications, financial recording and monitoring procedures. To be responsible for human resources activities and the administration in the Organisation, including policies and procedures. The Business and Finance Manager is expected to be familiar with principles and nature of independent advocacy and all aspects of the service. This will involve taking part in training and developing practice as appropriate.
The duties of the role include:
- To manage all financial aspects of the Organisation including the cashbook, end of month/year reporting, payroll, project funding and projections;
- To manage human resources functions of the Organisation;
- To manage all the administration aspects of the Organisation, including the management of the Senior Administrator;
- To work closely with the General Manager, Treasurer, Finance sub-group and Fundraising sub-group;
- To be responsible for the preparation of papers and information for the quarterly Board of Trustees meetings and to attend all, whenever possible;
- Adherence to SIAA (Scottish Independent Advocacy Alliance), both policies and procedures and codes of practice.
