Advocacy Western Isles has just gone through a major restructure and is looking for a General Manager to lead our team of twelve to provide managerial support for our third sector Advocacy Service serving the Western Isles of Scotland.
The General Manager will be responsible for the day to day running of the Independent Advocacy Service based in our office in Stornoway, Isle of Lewis, and will report to the Board of Trustees through the Chair and Executive Group. The purpose of the post includes, but is not limited to, the following:
- To promote a comprehensive Independent Advocacy Service throughout the Western Isles
- To manage and lead the staff of the Organisation
- To future develop the Organisation as appropriate
- To oversee the management of financial resources and deploy effectively
- To be familiar with the principles and practice of Independent Advocacy and to take account of existing and new changes in legislation as it affects the Advocacy provision
- To look for opportunities to raise the awareness of Independent Advocacy through networking, as well as ensure that the Organisation is appropriately represented on various committees and groups in CNeS, NHS Western Isles and the Third Sector.
