As and When Project Worker 1 (22670)

We are a large family support service based in Inverclyde and we are looking to appoint an As & When Project Worker(s). This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced practitioner to join Barnardo's and support service delivery within both our children's disability service and working across our family support service. We provide a range of family support and groupwork for children, young people and their families. Support takes place in a range of settings based on the individual needs of the family, and can include the service base, school and outreach within family homes.

We are seeking project workers who are developing their experience of supporting children, families and young people on a groupwork and 1-1 basis. There is a requirement for flexibility, which includes regular evenings and occasional weekend working to meet the needs of children, young people and their families.

General responsibilities and requirements:

• Previous experience of working with children, young people, families
• Work collaboratively and alongside children, young people and families to shape their own support
• Experience and knowledge of applying safeguarding policies and procedures
• Working effectively as part of a team
• An understanding of the adversities experienced by children, young people and families
• Provide direct support for children, young people or families, including 1:1 support, groupwork within the service and outreach work within the community
• Complete and maintain recordings in line with local and organisational policy
• Being creative, dynamic and flexible to meet the needs of children, young people and their families
