An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and creative practitioner to join Barnardo's as a Project Worker 2 within our Young Carers Service. We are looking for someone who has knowledge and skills to work alongside our dedicated team to help deliver a service which will meet the needs of Young Carers locally. It is our aim to ensure that young carers have a fulfilled life alongside caring by offering the following interventions:

1:1 support

Group work

Signposting/ Community Linking

Family Work

Respite

Within this role you will be responsible for maintaining contact and providing support to Young Carers and their families who are faced with a variety of support needs. You will also be responsible for planning, running and evaluating group opportunities as part of a small staff team. Evening and weekend working will be required.

The successful candidate must have experience working with vulnerable children or adults with complex needs. Understanding of local and national policies surrounding children and young people's health and wellbeing is required. Knowledge about young people's participation and co-production of service design and delivery is desirable. Your role will be based in our Barnardo's Aberdeen office but includes community working in schools, family homes, community centres etc. The successful candidate must have a current driving licence, access to a car and be willing to transport young people as required.
