Barnardo's Linksfield Service is an established residential children's house in Aberdeen city. The house provides alternative to family care in a small group setting for up to 5 young people aged 12 plus.

At Linksfield we aim to provide a nurturing environment, applying an attachment lead approach and offering a sense of emotional containment and safety for young people who have experienced early family and relational trauma.

Working predominantly with long term placements and in accordance with the Children and Young People (Scotland) Act 2014, we are committed to embracing the continuing care agenda and to support our young people to remain living in placement through to adulthood where possible.

The service is a 365 day service and requires flexible working as part of a shift pattern which will include sleep in duties. ( A supplement of £62.64 per sleep in shift)

We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Practitioner to work as part of our management team.

A qualified practitioner (background in social work, teaching, community education or health) with post qualifying childcare experience, you will have the ability to supervise staff, and contribute to the planning and development of an innovative residential service.

In addition to the above duties, the job description and person specifications, you will be expected to be able and willing to undertake the core duties of a Residential Project Worker and support care to be delivered as part of a team, where practice reflects a therapeutic ethos of care. This involves working directly with Looked After and Accommodated young people, providing a safe and nurturing environment and contributing to their social, physical and emotional wellbeing.
