Are you a strategic leader with a passion for local government, communities and democracy? COSLA (Convention of Scottish Local Authorities) is offering an exciting opportunity to join our Senior Management Team as Director of Membership & Resources.

As a senior leader in our organisation, you will work with politicians and partner organisations to ensure that the voice of Scottish councillors and their communities are at the heart of all national and local decision making.

We have clear principles and values which you will be expected to uphold as you provide strategic oversight in corporate, constitutional, and political governance. Demonstrating leadership, you will drive continuous improvement and reform in COSLA and across the public service landscape in Scotland.

Your responsibilities will include planning and developing corporate objectives, ensuring organisational performance, and maintaining compliance with statutory and corporate responsibilities. You will provide strategic leadership for two of the most high-profile policy areas of local government - finance and workforce (with COSLA acting as the “employers organisation” for Councils). Furthermore, you will maintain professional stakeholder relationships and advocate for COSLA at every opportunity.
