This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is interested in starting a career within regulatory services, to work within the Trading Standards Scotland team as an assistant officer whilst undertaking the SVQ Level 7 Modern Apprenticeship in Regulatory Services.

Trading Standards Scotland (TSS) is the national Trading Standards team hosted by COSLA which has responsibility for coordinating and undertaking national and cross border consumer protection cases as well as illegal money lending cases on behalf of local authority trading standards services. The successful applicant whilst undertaking the modern apprenticeship will work across the Trading Standards Scotland team developing the skills and knowledge necessary to conduct intelligence led investigations in to consumer law issues, and design and implement prevention strategies aimed at reducing consumer harm across Scotland.

You do not need any previous experience but a qualification in a law related subject is preferable. In accordance with Government Guidelines, you’ll need to be aged 16-24 (at the point of starting the apprenticeship) or if you are disabled or care experienced, you’ll need to be aged between 16-29 (at the point of starting the apprenticeship).
