Do you genuinely love people and instinctively know how to bring the best out in them? Do you have an inquisitive, analytical, and organized mind and love working in a fast-paced environment?

We are looking for a vibrant, forward-thinking leader to take ownership of the diverse and rewarding role of the Operations Manager at Meadowbank Sports Centre.

On a day-to-day basis you will be:

  • Leading by example to ensure high standards of customer service, venue cleanliness, and presentation.
  • Addressing customer needs and feedback proactively, continuously improving service quality.
  • Guiding your team to success, providing support, continuous development, and mentoring to ensure high performance, productivity, and training compliance.
  • Managing leave requests, sickness absences, performance, and participating in the recruitment, onboarding, and development of staff.
  • Developing and implementing the annual business plan to maximize revenue and improve overall facility performance.
  • Planning, organizing, managing, and evaluating the centre's daily activities including events like the Scottish Open (Snooker), and other large-scale sporting events, ensuring seamless execution and exceptional experiences for attendees.
  • Communicating and enforcing all health and safety, risk assessments, security regulations, and protocols through all services and activities, ensuring a safe environment for customers and staff.

You will be responsible for shaping and influencing the business to drive its success, so the following skills are essential:

  • You will have extensive experience working within operations at a management level, preferably in the sports or leisure industry.
  • You will be a solution-focused, problem solver with the ability to balance several conflicting projects and have excellent decision-making and judgment capabilities.
  • You will demonstrate exceptional organizational, interpersonal, communication, delegation, and leadership skills.
  • You will be able to connect with different parts of the organization and work efficiently across divergent functions.

In return, we offer:

  • Generous holiday allowance (32 days, rising with service up to 40 days)
  • Paid sick leave
  • Company pension (with employee contributions matched up to 12%)
  • Flexible working hours
  • Opportunities for training, career growth and development
  • Free membership across all our centres with access to fitness classes, gyms, and swimming pools
  • Cycle-to-work scheme
  • Access to discounts with a huge number of retailers (saving money in cinemas, restaurants, clothing, and electronics shops, on insurance and healthcare and much more)

If you have passion, tenacity, and energy along with great people skills, we would love to hear from you.
