Job Description

Could You Be the Right Fit for My Support Team? x2 Personal Assistants Required

Hi. I’m looking for two Personal Assistants to join my team and support me to live independently in my own home.

A bit about me:

I live in the Penilee area of Glasgow (G52) and enjoy a good Netflix series, trips to the cinema, shopping, attending gigs and concerts, and watching stand-up comedy. While I'd describe myself as introverted, I enjoy spending time with people who are positive, easy-going, and can hold a good conversation.

No two days are exactly the same, and I'm looking for someone who will not only provide practical support but also be a positive and reliable part of my support team.

Who am I looking for?

I'm looking for someone who is reliable, respectful, and has a positive attitude. Strong communication skills are important, as is the ability to follow routines and instructions to ensure I receive the support I need.
Ideally, you will be:

•    Friendly and approachable
•    A good listener and a strong communicator
•    Reliable and dependable
•    Comfortable providing personal and intimate care
•    Confident helping with meal preparation and household tasks
•    Supportive of independent living and personal choice
•    Able to understand and follow individual preferences and support routines

Previous care experience is welcome but not essential. What's most important to me is finding someone with the right values, attitude, and willingness to learn.

What support I require:

I require support with all aspects of my day-to-day life, including personal and intimate care, assistance with meals, household tasks, and practical support at home.
As I am paralysed from the neck down, I rely on others for my physical support needs, but I direct my own care and know what works best for me.

I'm looking for someone who will work alongside me, respect my choices, and support me to maintain my independence and continue enjoying the things that matter to me.

Hours and Rate of Pay:

•    10-25 hours per week available
•    Day and night shift available
•    Two positions available
•    Zero-hours contract
•    £13.50 per hour day shifts and £13.45 night shifts

Ready to join my team?

If you're someone who brings a positive attitude, enjoys building genuine connections, and wants a rewarding role supporting independent living, I'd love to hear from you. If you think we'd be a good match, please apply today.
Send your CV to par@gcil.org.uk quoting the reference “GCIL.SB.LJ.1.26” in the subject line and body of the email. If you have any questions, please contact GCIL at 0141 550 4455.

Due to the nature of the personal care support required, this post is open to female applicants only under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010.
