Maintenance Assistant - Gas (Fixed Term to May 2025)

Govanhill Housing Association is a well-established, community-controlled Registered Social Landlord operating within the Govanhill and Merrylee communities of Glasgow. We own and manage around 2,800 homes and provide a Factoring Service to a further 1,500 private owners.

The Association has a substantial Capital Investment Programme, carries out acquisition and improvement of tenemental stock as well as delivering a new build programme. We work closely with our subsidiary company, Govanhill Community Development Trust, whose community development and regeneration services complement our own role as a social landlord.

We are seeking to recruit an experienced Maintenance Assistant to join our well-established Maintenance team. The successful candidate will deliver a wide range of those maintenance services.

The main duties of this role are in relation to our Gas Servicing and EICR contracts, ensuring access to homes to carry it out and adhering closely to the statutory obligations attached to them.

The successful candidate will need to be organised, an excellent communicator, dealing with customers and contractor representatives to ensure we meet our obligations, and someone who can manage a large workload. A need for accuracy, excellent records and time management are essential and previous experience and knowledge of managing a contract like this, with similar legal requirements, would be desirable.

As the Govanhill area has a diverse community, the ability to speak a community language is desirable.
