Applications are invited from experienced Chartered Surveyors for this varied and challenging role.
The successful candidate will undertake a diverse range of work involving both non-domestic properties for rating purposes and domestic properties for Council Tax. As a Senior Valuer, you will also play an important role in supervising, training and mentoring colleagues, helping to maintain professional standards and supporting the continuing development of Valuers, Trainees and Technicians.
The role includes the survey and valuation of new and altered properties, research and valuation of more complex subjects, analysis of sales, rental and cost evidence, and discussions and negotiations with property owners and professional agents. You will also assist in the preparation of appeal cases and have the opportunity to present valuation evidence as an expert witness before valuation Tribunals.
Previous experience of local taxation valuation is desirable but not essential, and we welcome applications from Chartered Surveyors with relevant experience gained in private practice or other valuation environments, particularly in commercial or residential property.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced surveyor seeking to broaden their professional experience, develop their supervisory and leadership skills and apply their valuation expertise within a varied and rewarding professional environment.
The posts are available on a permanent basis and are open to suitably qualified applicants seeking either full-time or part-time hours. Where a post has more than one salary scale, the successful candidate will be appointed on the appropriate scale, taking account of their relevant experience.
Application packs can be downloaded from our website using the link here or requested by email from recruitment@grampian-vjb.gov.uk

On occasions, such as the approach to a statutory deadline, annual leave may be restricted and there may be a requirement to work additional hours, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
