Job Identity
Job Title: Personal Assistant (Personal Care)
Location of Job: Buckie – Arradoul
Term: Permanent, subject to a satisfactory three-month trial period
Working Hours: 2 Hours per week
Saturday and Sunday
30 Minutes AM – Between 9.30 and 10.30
30 Minutes PM - 9 – 9.30pm
Rate of Pay
£13.45
Job Purpose and Way of Working
To assist and elderly lady who lives with her family to complete transfers, washing, dressing, undressing, and continence. Each visit will be 30 minutes. A full driving licence and access to own car will be required due to location.
The Personal Assistant will be required to provide support including:
· Personal Care including incontinence support
· Safe moving and handling

Essential Requirements
The successful applicant must:
· Reliable, punctual and trustworthy
· Caring, compassionate and respectful approach
· Ability to provide dignified personal care while promoting independence
· Good communication and listening skills
· Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries
· Comfortable supporting with personal care tasks including washing, dressing, toileting and continence support
· Ability to follow care routines from the employer/family
· Patient and understanding approach to supporting vulnerable individuals
· Ability
Preferred Qualities and Experience
· Previous experience working as a Personal Assistant, Support Worker or Carer
· Experience supporting individuals with disabilities, dementia, mobility difficulties
· Understanding of safeguarding and adult protection practices
· Moving and handling experience or training
· Knowledge of the local area
· Ability to support individuals to appointments, hobbies, and social activities
· Experience promoting independence and confidence building skills
· Flexible availability to cover holidays or sickness where required
· Comfortable working in a family home environment
Additional Information
· Own transport will be required
Supervision and reporting relationships
Personal Assistants will be directed by and accountable to the employer. It is necessary to ask the employer what the support needs are, observing her directions and requests. It is also necessary to respect the family privacy and to always maintain confidentiality.
Training
Full training will be provided and paid for by the employer. This will include Adult Support and protection. Moving and Handling.
