Job Description

Personal Assistants required for relief hours

Working Hours:   Relief hours available  Covering holidays and sickness for 4 PA’s

 Rate of Pay - £13.45 per hour + £107.60 per sleepover

Job Purpose and Way of Working

To provide support to 2 men aged 57 and 46 who share accommodation and share their staff team who enhance positive levels of mental, health and wellbeing. The men are registered blind and learning disabilities. The men lead active lives attending various activities such as hydrotherapy pool, horse riding for the disabled and enjoy spending time at day activities where they can interact with friends and staff.

The package runs on a 4-week rota, the hours required covering will be as and when covering sickness and holidays for the team of 4 staff of PA’s and will include sleepovers.

Duties will include:

To support in promoting independence and inclusion within their own home and out in the wider community

To provide all aspects of personal care.

 To provide and support with healthy meals and fluid intake.

  To support and maintain a clean and healthy environment.

  To support carrying out daily activities of their choice.

   To provide sleepovers, cover any sick leave or annual leave.

   To be a team member and keep all relevant training certificates updated.

Personal Assistants will be directed by and accountable to the employer. It is necessary to ask the employer what the support needs are, observing her directions and requests. It is also necessary to respect the family privacy and to maintain confidentiality at all times.

A reference from 2 employers, one of which should be current or recent is required. Employees will be required to register online with the PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) scheme. Further information can be found at www.disclosurescotland.co.uk
