Who We Are

NHS Education for Scotland (NES) is the national health board with statutory responsibilities to effect sustainable change through workforce development, education and training across the health and social care system in Scotland, while working at UK level with partner organisations.

The Workforce Directorate works at a national level to support the delivery of NES’s strategic plan and is a key partner to the delivery of Scottish Government priorities for the health and social care workforce. It also provides a comprehensive People and Organisational Development strategy and service for the people who work for NES and externally.

The Centre for Workforce Supply Social Care Team (CWSS) is a newly established unit within the Workforce Directorate. It has been commissioned by the Scottish Government to deliver an exciting new programme of work, to pilot nationally coordinated and accelerated international recruitment into adult social care roles across Scotland. The unit will work closely with colleagues in the newly established NES Social Care Directorate and with stakeholders from Scottish Government and COSLA to deliver this work


The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to join our newly formed Centre for Workforce Supply Social Care Team (CWSS) to support the delivery of the international recruitment into adult social care programme.

We are looking for a Specialist Lead to join our new, talented and growing team to act as the lead around pastoral support and education, providing advice and guidance nationally, to support this highly complex international recruitment programme. This will require building excellent, effective relationships with social care providers international recruitment leads, the Scottish Government and other key stakeholders across the wider social care system.
