About the role

Scotland Excel is continuing to experience a growing demand for our expertise as a centre of excellence for public sector procurement from local authorities across Scotland and other organisations in the public domain.

As a result, we are seeking to recruit two Commercial Leads on a 2-year fixed term basis.

Scotland Excel is dedicated to supporting our member Councils, and associate members to identify and realise financial savings across their organisational activities. Our teams engage across all public buying categories from software to construction. It is a fast-paced environment with a wide variety of procurement experience and skills being utilised.

The successful candidates will have a good understanding of public sector procurement and enjoy working across various clients, services and opportunities simultaneously. We are seeking individuals with a strong commercial acumen combined with a thirst to drive procurement savings and efficiencies. Excellent negotiation skills and analysis experience will be key to the role. If this sounds like you, we would like to hear from you.

What we can offer you

As well as a competitive salary, you will have access to all the benefits of working for a public sector organisation including a defined benefits pension scheme, generous holiday allowance, hybrid working (1 day office, 4 days remote working at present) and other flexible working options. You will have access to staff discounts and a range of other initiatives which reflect our commitment to creating a positive work-life balance for all our employees.
