Young Person Support Worker

Alcohol & Drugs Action are absolutely delighted to be a delivery partner to Scottish Families and the ‘Grow Your Own Routes’ programme. We are very excited at the prospect of launching this unique opportunity, which will involve us working across the Fraserburgh, Peterhead and Banff areas of Northeast Scotland, to co-produce positive activity and outcomes for those young people affected by alcohol and drug use. We are therefore looking to hire 2 x Young Person Support Workers to help with the delivery of the Grow Your Own Programme.

Wherever it operates Alcohol & Drugs Action will proactively work to reduce the harms, inequalities and stigma associated with substance related issues, thus enabling and improving access to recovery by delivering a wide range of measurable, positive outcomes for individuals, families and communities most in need.

​ADA’s Mission (Routes)

Alcohol & Drugs Action will provide a range of support to young people affected by a significant others substance use. The routes project will focus support on building a community for young people affected by another’s Drug and/or alcohol use and support the wellbeing of our young people by providing 1-1 and group-based support alongside planned activities.

​Objectives of the Project

​This post will support the delivery of ADA ‘Grow Your Own Routes’ Young Persons Project, working alongside young people in Peterhead, Fraserburgh & Banff areas, to provide a programme of support for 12–26-year-olds affected by family alcohol and drug use. The post operates as part of the Routes team led by a dedicated Senior Practitioner and supported by two Young Person’s workers.

​The roles will be based in various locations across Aberdeenshire North; Peterhead, Fraserburgh and Banff.
