CARE TEAM LEAD / FIELD CARE SUPERVISOR – DOMICILIARY CARE

Locations: East Dunbartonshire or West Dunbartonshire

Hours: 35 hours per week

Salary: £30,000 pro rata, plus additional on-call payments

Vacancies: Four posts available – two in each area

Are you an experienced Senior Care Assistant, Senior Support Worker, Care Supervisor, Field Care Supervisor or Team Leader looking for an exciting new opportunity in homecare?

Alltogether Care Services is creating dedicated geographical care teams across East and West Dunbartonshire. We are looking for confident and compassionate Care Team Leads to help build these new teams and shape how support is delivered within each area.

This is more than a standard senior carer position. You will become a visible and consistent point of contact for your local care team, working closely with a dedicated Care Coordinator to support staff, maintain quality and deliver excellent, person-centred care.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Care Team Lead, you will combine hands-on domiciliary care with field-based supervision, staff mentoring, quality assurance and service-user support.

You will help create a positive team culture where Care Professionals feel valued, listened to and properly supported.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading, supporting and motivating a local team of Care Professionals
  • Providing high-quality, person-centred care in Service Users’ homes
  • Supporting personal care, medication, meal preparation and daily living activities
  • Acting as a consistent point of contact for field staff
  • Working closely with the Care Coordinator responsible for your area
  • Completing staff spot checks, observations and competency assessments
  • Supporting staff appraisals, supervisions, wellbeing meetings and return-to-work discussions
  • Coaching and mentoring new and existing care staff
  • Supporting staff induction, onboarding and shadowing
  • Completing Service User reviews and quality monitoring visits
  • Ensuring care plans and risk assessments remain accurate and up to date
  • Monitoring medication competency and safe working practices
  • Supporting incident reporting, investigations and improvement actions
  • Promoting safeguarding, dignity, independence and duty of care
  • Communicating with Service Users, families and health and social care professionals
  • Ensuring compliance with Care Inspectorate, SSSC and company standards
  • Providing emergency care cover when required
  • Participating in alternative weekend working and a rotational on-call roster

ABOUT YOU

You should have:

  • Previous experience in homecare, domiciliary care, community care or social care
  • At least six months’ experience in a senior, supervisory or leadership role
  • Strong people-management, communication and organisational skills
  • The confidence to make decisions and solve problems
  • A supportive leadership style and the ability to lead by example
  • Knowledge of person-centred care, medication, safeguarding and compliance
  • A driving licence and access to your own vehicle
  • Flexibility to travel between Service Users’ homes and the local office
  • Appropriate SSSC registration at supervisory level, or the ability to obtain it
  • A relevant care qualification at SCQF Level 7 or above
  • A relevant supervisory or management qualification, or willingness to work towards one
