Ark has been successfully supporting people with Learning Disabilities, Autism, Mental Health, and Complex Support needs to live good lives and make their home in their communities for 47 years. Providing over 16,000 hours of support a week, we currently support over 400 people across Scotland in 12 Local Authority areas.
We have an exciting opportunity to join Ark as a Resource Co-ordinator. This new post is critical for Ark as we move into a new phase of organisational development and implement our Care & Support Strategy.
Reporting to the Senior Resource Co-ordinator, Resource Co-ordinators will provide an effective customer service to staff and Supported People which supports the delivery of consistent, quality services in a defined area.
Resource Co-ordinators will:
- Develop a detailed working knowledge of Arks Information Management system (AIMS) with a particular focus on the rota management system.
- Develop a sound understanding of Ark’s approach to staff deployment and ensure this is employed in practice.
- Develop an understanding of supported peoples’ support packages and their support requirements.
- Create, maintain and develop effective staff rotas.
- Support staff with overall compliance with AIMS.
- Provide ongoing support and training for staff in the use of AIMS.
- Work closely with the Senior Resource Co-ordinator and AIMS Development Manager to support the development of the system and processes.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience of developing and/or managing staff rotas.
- Experience of working in a dynamic environment with changing priorities.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- The ability to think creatively in relation to resource deployment/meeting capacity.
- Experience of working with digital systems to support operational activity.
- The ability to monitor data and create reports.

Please note that this post will be assigned to work with some of Arks services across Scotland. There will be hybrid working flexibility within this role, though you will need to work part of the week at the services allocated to you. Your initial training during your first few days with Ark will take place at Arks central office at Lochside House, Edinburgh Park.
After the initial training period this role will operate on a shift basis to ensure support is available to our teams at key times. This will include early starts and late finishes. Once the team is established this role will include some weekend working.
