Blackwood are currently looking for a Kitchen Domestic to join our Team in Belses Gardens Care Home, Glasgow.
As an award-winning care provider, we support people with physical disabilities and long-term conditions to live life to the fullest. At our 24/7 Belses Gardens Care Home, we deliver person-led, complex care tailored to each individual’s needs and support plans.
As a Kitchen Domestic, you will play an important role in helping provide customers with nutritious, well-balanced, and appealing meals in a safe and welcoming environment. You will support the Cook Supervisor or Weekend Cook in the smooth operation of the catering unit, including assisting with food preparation and carrying out cleaning duties. Your responsibilities will include:
• Assist the cook with the preparation of meals.
• To serve, assist and clean at meal times.
• To clean all crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils and equipment.
• To maintain a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen, storerooms and all dining areas.
• Ensure that adequate supplies are provided for breakfast and overnight meals.
Don’t worry if you don’t have all the experience, we provide comprehensive training and development opportunities to help you succeed in the role, although previous experience is desirable.
The ideal candidate must have:
• A commitment to delivering high standards of hygiene
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• A relevant Food Hygiene certificate (not essential, as training will be provided)
