Camphill Blair Drummond is seeking a dedicated Cook to lead the preparation and presentation of healthy, balanced meals for our Day Service. You will work with seasonal produce, including home-grown fruits and vegetables, and create menus that reflect the dietary and cultural needs of our residents, day students, volunteers, and employees.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Prepare fresh, nutritious light lunches daily
  • Plan weekly menus that accommodate allergies, cultural preferences, and seasonal produce
  • Collaborate with day students, employees, and volunteers to inform menu planning
  • Manage food resources, stock control, and weekly shopping
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and health regulations
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene and kitchen safety
  • Promote the Camphill ethos in all aspects of your work

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • Level 3 Food Hygiene Certificate
  • Strong knowledge of food prep, cooking methods, and sanitation
  • Ability to work independently and manage kitchen operations
  • Respect for confidentiality and safeguarding practices

Desirable:

  • Experience in residential or hospitality settings
  • Familiarity with general kitchen equipment and appliances

Personal Qualities

  • Flexible and reliable with a positive attitude
  • Empathetic and supportive of individuals with learning disabilities
  • Enthusiastic about food and its role in daily life
  • Able to build warm, respectful relationships with colleagues and day students
