Join Our Team as a Housekeeper
We are looking for a reliable, motivated, and compassionate Housekeeper to support our community by maintaining clean, safe, and welcoming environments. This role is perfect for someone with a positive attitude, strong attention to detail, and a genuine interest in supporting a meaningful community setting.
Hours: 20 per week
Salary: £13,104.00 (20 hours per week)
Main Duties
As a Housekeeper, your responsibilities will include:
- Cleaning, washing, sweeping, mopping, dusting, polishing and vacuuming designated areas to required standards
- Emptying litter bins and removing waste to designated areas
- Cleaning toilets and bathrooms, using powered equipment where necessary (scrubbing machines, wet pick‑up machines, vacuum cleaners)
- Cleaning working surfaces and furniture as directed
- Responding to flooding or other emergency cleaning needs
- Preparing bedrooms for new International Volunteers
- Setting up rooms for refreshments on Corporate Volunteering days and engaging with volunteers
- Carrying out any additional appropriate duties related to the role
Qualifications
Essential
- No formal qualifications required, but willingness to complete essential training (including safe use of cleaning equipment and Health & Safety training)
- Compliance with safety policies and procedures, including proper use of chemicals and incident reporting
- Awareness of occupational hazards and necessary safety precautions
Desirable
- Familiarity with cleaning equipment
- Previous experience in a residential or hospitality environment
Experience & Skills
Essential
- Ability to work independently and show initiative
- Comfortable interacting with residents, day students, employees, and volunteers
- Good understanding of health, safety, and hygiene standards
- Strong attention to detail
Desirable
- Previous experience in a similar housekeeping or cleaning role
