Live in Personal Assistant / Carer

£950 per week | Immediate start | PVG required

I am a man in my 60s living with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP).I am looking to recruit live-in Personal Assistants to join my small, established care team and support me to live a full and meaningful life. I use a wheelchair and require assistance with daily activities. Before my diagnosis I worked as a veterinary surgeon. I still have a strong interest in animals, nature, and the outdoors. One of my favourite activities is an outing to the forest in my wheelchair whatever the weather. I would particularly welcome applications from people who enjoy these things and bring curiosity, warmth, and conversation into their work.

The role:

Support is required between 8:30am and 9:30pm, with a 2-hour break during the day. However, flexibility is required. Work patterns can be discussed at an interview.

You will be working alongside another carer due to moving and handling requirements.

Main responsibilities

· Personal care including showering, toileting, and dressing

· Safe moving and handling using a hoist

· Basic meal preparation and assistance with eating and drinking

(I am on a limited diet and need someone patient and attentive)

· Light household tasks

· General day-to-day support as required

My condition has affected my speech, so I am looking for someone who is comfortable taking the lead in conversation, able to talk naturally and engagingly even when I am not always able to respond.

You will be:

· Reliable, trustworthy, and patient

· Flexible and able to work as part of a team

· Comfortable providing personal care

· Willing to learn (full training provided)

· Able to drive (essential due to location)

An interest in animals and the outdoors is required

Pay & accommodation

· Live-in position

· £950 per week to work in rotation with a another carer

· PVG required
