Personal Assistant

Alexander is 23 years old, lives in Dumfries with his parents, and is currently studying a cyber security degree at university. He is seeking a reliable, patient, and trustworthy Personal Assistant (PA) to join his care team for around 20 hours per week. The main purpose of this role is to support Alexander with social activities and help him get out of the house.

The ideal PA will be available to work weekdays and/or weekends but the hours are flexible and can be adapted going forward. They should have a clean manual driving licence to drive Alexander’s accessible Motability van. Activities may include going to watch Dumfries Saints rugby home games and Queen of the South home games, taking walks in the local area, and sharing his interests in computers and video games.

This position involves personal care tasks, moving and handling (training will be provided if necessary), meal preparation, and assistance with eating. Alexander appreciates a good sense of humour and someone willing to take the time to understand his speech difficulties.

The rate of pay is £12.60 per hour with 5.6 weeks (pro rata) paid annual leave. The post is subject to a satisfactory PVG check.
