Personal Assistant/Support Worker Vacancy (Self-Directed Support)

We are two sisters in our 40's who have recently moved to Lochmaben with our family and are seeking caring, reliable Personal Assistants/Support Workers to support us through Self-Directed Support (SDS).

The role is to provide person-centred support to help us maintain our independence and participation in everyday life.

The required support with everyday living tasks include:

  • Cooking healthy meals and baking
  • Going to the gym and for walks
  • Shopping
  • Attending appointments
  • Personal Care if required

Our interests include:

  • Crafting
  • Birdwatching
  • Gardening
  • Caring for small animals

About You:

We are looking for individuals who are:

  • Calm, quiet, friendly and patient
  • Caring and respectful, with a person-centred approach
  • Observant, with an ability to recognise when support is needed and respond appropriately
  • Flexible and reliable
  • Previous Experience is desirable but not essential as training can be provided

Applicant must:

  • Have access to their own transport
  • Be non-smokers due to sensory issues
  • Be willing to provide holiday and sickness cover when required

Hours of Support:

Ideally we are looking to recruit two Personal Assistants to provide support Monday to Friday 9.30am - 3.30pm. Exact hours and working arrangements will be discussed further at interview.
