We are currently recruiting experienced Support Workers to join our residential, respite and Lifeskills services based in Lanark.
This is a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people with complex disabilities, helping them develop independence, confidence and life skills in a safe, supportive environment.
About the Role
Stanmore House Residential provides a combination of boarding (linked to Stanmore House School) and residential/respite care for children and young people across Scotland.
You’ll be supporting individuals aged 5 to 20 within a fully adapted, campus-based setting on the outskirts of Lanark.
Our service includes four bungalows supporting up to 16 young people. Support is delivered on a one-to-one and small group basis.
Daily responsibilities include:
- Personal care, dressing and medication support
- Assisting with mobility and mealtimes
- Supporting attendance at school and appointments
- Encouraging participation in recreational and social activities
Lifeskills Services
We also have opportunities within our Lifeskills team, which includes:
- Building-Based Support: Structured, on-site activities to develop independence
- Community Access: Supporting young people to attend local activities such as music, drama or sports
- Respite Support: Providing short breaks while promoting key life skills

Working Pattern
You’ll work a mix of shifts including:
- Day shifts (7:30am – 3:00pm)
- Back shifts (2:30pm – 10:00pm)
- Night shifts (9:45pm – 8:45am)

What We’re Looking For
- Caring, patient, and reliable individuals who are dedicated to the people we support
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Previous experience in care or social support is a plus but not essential
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and sleepover shifts
- UK Driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential due to the logistics of the role
