Are you passionate about helping people live independently and achieve the life they choose?

At Capability Scotland, we believe in providing high-quality, person-centred support that puts people first. Unlike many care providers, our visits are typically four hours or longer, giving you the time to build meaningful relationships and deliver personalised support that truly enhances lives.

We are looking for caring, committed and enthusiastic Community Living Assistants/Support Workers to join our West of Scotland Housing Support and Care at Home Services, supporting adults with disabilities across Renfrewshire & Glasgow (South & East).

About the Role

As a Community Living Assistant/Support Worker, you will provide tailored support that enables individuals to live independently within their own homes and communities.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting adults with a range of disabilities to achieve their personal goals
  • Assisting with personal care, including washing, dressing and grooming
  • Administering and supporting medication routines
  • Supporting communication, meal preparation and daily living activities
  • Helping individuals maintain their homes and tenancies
  • Accompanying people to appointments, educational opportunities, social activities and community events
  • Encouraging participation in hobbies, leisure activities and interests
  • Providing one-to-one or two-to-one support, depending on individual needs

Every day is different, but your focus will always be on promoting dignity, choice, independence and inclusion.

About You

We are looking for individuals who:

  • Have a caring, compassionate and person-centred approach
  • Are flexible and able to work a rotational shift pattern, including evenings, weekends and nights
  • Have experience supporting adults with disabilities in community, care or support settings
  • Hold a full UK manual driving licence and have access to their own vehicle (essential for this community-based role)

Mileage expenses are paid for work-related travel.

Additional Information

This post is restricted to female applicants only. This is a Genuine Occupational Requirement in accordance with Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010, due to the personal and intimate care needs of the individuals we support.
