About the Role – Support Worker

Our Edinburgh Children Services, Support Workers provide a safe, caring environment with a focus on making sure the children who we support, have oodles of fun during the school holidays. These are creative and active roles. You would be supporting our young people with learning and physical disabilities, to enjoy activities such as; arts and crafts, baking and cooking as well as countless fun packed trips to the swimming pool, museums and parks to name a few!

These roles do not require you to support with medication, however, you may provide personal care (including intimate care), and support young people with aspects of their general welfare to meet their individual needs.

Hours: Relief/Bank, school holidays – 9am-3pm, 4 days per week (no weekends or evenings)

Location: Our base is at Kaimes School, Edinburgh, EH16 6RT however, you will travel regularly for social outings.

Experience/qualifications/key skills required

Experience of working in a similar role and environment is desirable as is a willingness to undertake any personal development opportunities. You should have a care related SVQ Level 3, or the willingness to gain this qualification in a given timescale. You should possess good interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative.
