About Riccarton (Day Services) Hub
At Capability Scotland Riccarton Hub, we provide specialist daytime support and occasional 24-hour short break respite services for adults with physical, learning and complex disabilities, promoting independence, inclusion and wellbeing through personalised care and enriching activities.
We provide fun and meaningful activities for our customers to get involved in during the day. We pride ourselves on enhancing outcomes and life experiences and, within our Hub, we focus on health and wellbeing as well as creating smiles. We're focused on making our customers' time at Riccarton all about them and offer tailored and bespoke support plans.
About the Role
We are looking to recruit a Team Leader to support our Service Manager in managing our team. As experienced social care practitioners, you will ensure that our people continue to receive the exceptional, person-centred support we provide by being responsible for:
- Rota management
- Staff management, supervision, recruitment and development
- Managing customer activities
- Health and Safety
- Compiling and checking Care and Support Plans for customers
- Management of medicines procedures
- Financial management for customers (dependent on service)
- Liaising with families, health and care professionals and social workers
- Sleepovers and on-call support (dependent on service – additional payments are provided where appropriate)
Hours of Work
37 hours per week, predominantly Monday to Friday between 8.30am and 5.30pm.
This post will require flexibility to provide occasional on-call cover within our respite service.
Experience / Qualifications / Key Skills Required
Experience of working in a similar role and environment is desirable, as is a willingness to take on personal development opportunities. You should hold an SVQ Level 4 in a care-related subject, or be willing to work towards this qualification within an agreed timescale.
You should have:
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team
- The ability to work on your own initiative
- A person-centred approach to support delivery
