As a Support Practitioner, you’ll play a key role in helping people live their best lives. Every day, you’ll make a real difference, whether you’re supporting someone with daily routines, helping them settle back home after a hospital stay, or responding to telecare alarms. It’s a role where every day you help people stay connected, independent, and supported in their own homes.

About Us



Carr Gomm is a leading social care and community development charity, supporting people across Argyll & Bute to live independently, safely, and well in their own homes. We are currently recruiting Relief Support Practitioners for the following services in Helensburgh:

Responders

Respond to Telecare alarms 24/7, helping people in emergencies such as falls. This fast-paced role involves dynamic risk assessments, quick problem-solving, and using specialist equipment such as ELK cushions.

Shift Patterns: 7am – 3pm and/or 3pm – 11pm, plus 11pm – 7am waking nights.

All Support Practitioners support people to live well in their own homes, building trusting relationships and helping them stay connected to their community.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for people who are compassionate, reliable, and community-minded. You do not need professional experience to join us. We provide comprehensive induction training, including the use of ELK Lifting Cushion to all new team members.

A full driving license is essential for this role, with a company car provided while on shift.

  • £26,886 – £28,353 per annum (pro rata) / £13.75 – £14.50 based on qualifications, skills and experience
  • Anti-social hours enhancement of up to £1272, per annum, when undertaking waking night shifts (11pm-7am)
  • Mileage payment of 45p per mile
