CATCH is a unique organisation offering both 1:1 care, housing and vocational training support personalised to meet the needs of each Individual. Our ‘wrap-around’ care packages are designed to be flexible and responsive to each Young Adult’s needs and CARE really is at the heart of everything we do.
Similarly, the ‘personalised’ vocational TRAINING programmes open opportunities for future employment or gaining a continuing education placement.
We offer transitional care and learning experiences tailored to meeting the needs of Young Adults with a range of Additional Support Needs between the ages of 16-25 , many of whom are care experienced.
General:
- To assist the Service Manager with the day to day running and any issues that arise dealing with them in a timely manner. Ensure that the service we provide reaches the National Care Standards.
- Promote Young Adults’ rights and responsibilities with a person centred approach that fosters self-awareness, personal growth and support Young Adults to transition into independence.
Reporting line:
- Report directly to the Service Manager
Young Adults:
- Ensure each Young Adult is heard and has a personalised Care Plan to work towards.
- Address any challenges that arise with Young Adults.
- Ensure their support team is working effectively around them.
- Ensure they are working towards independence.
Staff:
- Lead by example and develop effective teams and staff groups.
- Develop a positive working environment which nurtures and rewards good practice through training and development.
- Ensure all staff are supervised in line with Catch’s procedures and standards.
- Ensure good quality relationships are built and maintained between staff and Young Adults.
- Ensure all staff supervisions and relevant meetings take place.
- Provide support and guidance to all staff.
- Ensure staff adhere to codes of conduct, rules, policies and procedures in staff handbook.
- Raise the standards of the staff with targeted plans to improve performance and centre the work around care and professionalism.
- Assist the Service Manager to carry out disciplinary / grievance procedures if necessary, in line with Catch policies and procedures.
- Manage change effectively.
- Ensure Housing Support plans are being adhered to.
- Strengthen the workforce.
- Work with management to ensure the company culture is filtered throughout the organisation. Spend time with new staff to ensure they understand the role and what is expected of them and work closely with supervisor consultant to address any issues that arise and ensure that staff feel they have a forum in which to be heard.
- Develop a culture which enable staff to develop their skills and feel valued in line with staff wellbeing programme.
- Undertake monthly one to one meetings with community managers.
- Set goals and targets with community managers in relation to the young adult's care plans.
- Monitor and measure performance of community managers and feedback to service manager of any areas which may require performance management.
Training and Development:
- Review internal training needs.
- Review external training needs, provide costings and implement where applicable.
Conduct to Social Work:
- Attend relevant Social Work meetings.
- Represent Catch in external meetings with multi-agency teams.
- Ensure any actions are followed through for Social Work and Young Adults.
- Ensure reporting to Social Work is consistent and appropriate.
Communication/Quality Management:
- Ensure service is run in line with statutory policies and procedures.
- Ensure processes are in place and adhered to in line with SSSC regulations.
- Communication to management team on staff plans and issues in the organisation.
- Give staff the forum and opportunity to have their views heard and ensure satisfactory working conditions are in place.
- Attend Housing Support meetings and ensure outcomes are filtered to relevant parties.
- Liaise with the service manager in relation to Informing Care Inspectorate of any incidents.
- Undertake Senior On Call duties.
- Be part of the On Call Rota system.
- Ensure Social Work are up to date and always informed.
Any other duties as required by management that are reasonable to fulfil the organisation’s needs.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Must have experience in Social Care.
- Strong interpersonal and organisational skills.
- Must have relevant experience of managing teams.
- Calm under pressure.
- Strong professional boundaries.
