Adult carers are people who help to look after a relative, partner, friend or child who has a disability, illness, mental health issue, addiction, or frailty. Providing unpaid care for someone can be rewarding but it can also be a huge responsibility that can affect other areas of a person’s life, such as, job prospects, relationships, education, family life and their own health and wellbeing.

The post holder of this vital role at Falkirk and Clackmannanshire Carers Centre, will work closely with health and social care partners to deliver high quality, relevant training of topics relating to carers’ needs. This training aims to support unpaid carers to increase their knowledge, improve their wellbeing and to allow them to care with confidence.

The main aims of this role are:

  • To develop and deliver a variety of training sessions, utilising your own skills and knowledge and engaging external experts when needed.
  • To promote the rights of carers, ensuring that these are understood and supported.
  • To conduct accessible training sessions to meet the needs of carers.
  • To evaluate training, gather feedback and continuously develop the programme.
  • To promote the training programs to increase awareness and participation among carers and stakeholders.

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and motivated, have good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to use their own initiative whilst contributing effectively within a team.
