As Estate Workshop Leader, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and maintenance of the Corbenic Estate workshop, working alongside residents and volunteers. This is a hands-on role that combines estate maintenance responsibilities with the supervision and support of adults with learning disabilities within a working environment.

You will ensure residents are provided with meaningful work opportunities suited to their abilities, supporting them to develop practical skills while contributing to the upkeep of the estate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Estate Workshop, providing meaningful work opportunities for residents according to their abilities and skills.
  • Support, supervise and work alongside residents and volunteers carrying out estate maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain and develop the Corbenic Estate, including woodlands, hedges, lawns, pathways, driveways and communal outdoor areas.
  • Ensure pathways and outdoor areas are safe, accessible and well maintained throughout the year.
  • Coordinate seasonal estate duties, including snow clearance and maintaining grit and salt supplies.
  • Organise the provision, chopping and safe storage of firewood for residential houses.
  • Ensure the safe use, maintenance and upkeep of all workshop tools, equipment and machinery.
  • Complete and regularly review risk assessments and other required health and safety documentation.
  • Work closely with House Coordinators and other colleagues to ensure residents' support needs are met within the workshop environment.
  • Contribute to care planning and risk assessment processes where required.
  • Support, train and supervise volunteers working within the Estate Workshop.
  • Manage the Estate Workshop budget within agreed limits.
  • Deliver workshop inductions and training for volunteers and new team members.
  • Attend workshop meetings, supervision sessions and training as required.
