​​​​​​​Our fabulous #TeamMethlan are on the lookout for caring, conscientious, team players with excellent communication skills to join them as Support Practitioners on a permanent basis. We have 20 to 30 hour contracts available.


You don't need experience to start your career with us; we recruit on values and we'll pay you for your training and give you all the practical skills you'll need.  We'll even put you through your SVQ (SCQF level 6/7) qualification too!​​​​​​​

The Role


As a Support Practitioner, you will support day to day personal needs including meal planning, cooking, housework, support to appointments and prompting with personal care and medication. By taking a person-centred approach, you will get to know the people we support as individuals, encourage their independence and help them recognize their potential. You will also have responsibility for developing and maintaining personal plans along with other relevant duties.


Our fabulous team work across 2 houses in Dumbarton supporting 10 individuals who enjoy being active and have a variety of interests including music, films, going for walks, swimming and social activities in the community. There's definitely never a dull day here, we'll be looking at you to take an keen interest and participate in their hobbies too.


​​​​​​​As some of the people we support have their own mobility cars it would be great if you have a full UK, driving licence but this isn't a deal breaker!!


To be a great Support Practitioner you will be:

Shift Patterns


We provide flexible, customer-led services providing 2:1 support seven days a week, with typical shift of shifts are 8.30am - 4.30pm or 9am - 5pm, sleepovers, weekends, and public holidays and on a rota basis.


Sleepovers are not included in your contracted hours and you’ll receive an additional payment of Â£94.50 for a 9 hour or Â£105 for a 10 hour for every sleepover shift you work. Hours are dependant on needs of the service.​​​​​​​

​​​​​​​Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with the support from our Training Academy. We will need you to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting your employment with us.
