The Role

You'll become part of a friendly team who supports three amazing ladies, all with various learning and physical disabilities to live in their own home. You'll feel right at home there! There's a lovely homely feel and they also have a separate sensory room within the home too.

Along with supporting the ladies with all aspects of daily living, all three ladies are fun loving and enjoy a busy social life, so you'll also support them with their hobbies and interests too which include swimming, arts & crafts, baking, music, movies and shopping trips and days out.

About You

At Cornerstone, we don't recruit on experience and qualifications; we're more interested in what you as a person will bring to our team!

We'll pay you for your training and give you all the practical skills you'll need to build your career within the Health & Social Care sector. We'll even fund your SVQ (SCQF level 6/7) qualification and your SSSC registration fees too!

For these particular opportunities, we are ideally looking for you to bring a full UK driving license with at least 1 years' experience on the roads as one of the ladies we support does have her own mobility car.

What we need you to bring: -

  • A caring and compassionate attitude
  • The ability to work well in a team
  • Great communication and organisational skills
  • A positive attitude with a willingness to learn
  • A creative drive to improve the lives of the individuals you support
  • Good administration skills
  • Confidence to go in the water as swimming is a regular activity
  • Confidence in the use of computers

The ladies we support have barriers to their communication, so it's essential that you also bring an excellent grasp of the English language.

Shift Patterns

As we're dedicated to providing the best support, tailored to the needs of each individual the shifts will fall into patterns of early mornings (from 0700 hours), days and evenings. Weekends, waking nights, sleepovers and public holidays will also form part of your work schedule on a rotational basis.

When working a sleepover, the sleep part of your shift isn’t included in your contracted hours. You receive £96 per sleepover worked.

Sound interesting? What are you waiting for? Apply today, we can't wait to hear from you!

We are looking to fill these vacancies as soon as possible and hold the right to close our advert early if we find suitable candidates before the closing date. Please apply early to avoid disappointment.

Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with the support from our Training Academy.

If you’re successful in joining our team, we will need you to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting your employment with us.

Cornerstone welcomes applications from all sections of the community and actively seeks to increase the diversity of our workforce.
